The display is exactly the same as the one that I sent you.

They are common anode (they have red and green cathodes) I highly recommend you configure it (as shown in the instructable) so that it uses the RED LED's

I need to go back and check what I ordered (CC or CA).
I found the mini push buttons as well as the right coin cell battery holder.
Will extract the part numbers etc and post when I have more time.
THANKS again
ps I couldn't read the numbers on the display you set me so I had a 50/50 shot at getting the right display.
item is SURE LE-MM103. Pretty sure its CA looking at the data sheet (its easy to confuse whats CC and CA. 8 anodes and 16 cathodes.

If you bought them from sure electronics, I am 90% sure that they only have common anode. (every single on I have bought from them has been common anode)

Have you got all the microcontrollers as well?

Am waiting for the microcontrollers from Digi-key. Ordered 10 for $12
should be here by mid week.
Not looking forward to programming as I have never done more that use the Pickit2 section w/ swordfish.
Hoping I can just download the hex file then program into the pics using the Pickit2 as I am using it with Swordfish.
I have all the rest of componetrs on order, should be here by end of the month (China is a long ways away)

You can download the Hex file to the PIC just by using the pickit2 application.
It can be found from this web page Pickit2, your looking for the ZIP file near the bottom.

If you don't know what Voltage your country is using, you shouldn't be doing electronics ;-)

Let us know how they go! Have you tried programming them yet?

Been working on the Bi colored matrix project using the TLC5916/17.
Trying to be "AT ONE" with this chip---lol made some progress by eliminating the high side driver chip and building a daughter board for the Tap-28. Basically got rid of the fluff for now.

Good to hear that you have been making some progress :)

What is the high side driver chip?

Using a TD62783APG for the high side driver.
I need to make a decision on components.
SETUP -- 5 x 7 Bi-color matrix has 28 pins (14 anodes and 10 cathodes) its a common cathode matrix. Kingbright doesn't even list on there site this matrix.
Possible choices = 1 High side driver (green and red anodes tied together and 1 TLC5940 (16 channel sink device)
2 High side drivers and one 8 channel sink device (tie the cathodes together)
1 high side driver and 2-8 channel sink devices(TLC5916)
2 high side drivers and 2- 8 channel sink devices.
the TLC5916 = $1.70 each, the TLC5940 16 channel are $3.78 each.
High side drivers are .95 each

most any combination is close to same price.
Decisions decisions decisions. Fewer chips = less battery drain, another reason why I chose not to use transistors.

Well I glued the pic to the board and after church I plan to solder it on. Hopefully with out any shorts.
Boy that pic is small.
I drilled the battery holder hole bigger and verified which was Vcc.
I hopefully will draw up a schematic but have aspirations of using an 18Fxxx and Swordfish plus enable the bi-colors so it goes red and green -- more festive.

Got a PIC soldered to a pcboard. Going to attempt to program tomorrow.
I noticed the diptrace pcboard does not show the slide switch. Playing around with using an 18F4520 and using both colors(red and green) then attempt to program using Swordfish.

If you like using swordfish (or are just getting started with it) then you should like my new kickstarter campaign starting (hopefully) tomorrow!
