Curious as to what are you using today to compile instead of MPLAB.
Hopefully something easier than MPLAB and still use the PICKIT2.

Well since moving away from coding in assembly with MPLAB, I have been using Swordfish basic. However (even though swordfish is my favourite) I have more or less moved onto the Arduino platform due to its huge fan base which to me shows that it will be around and supported for years to come.
