I haven't actually done anything else with the game since the video
Mainly because I need to upgrade to the full version of Swordfish because I have run out of ram. (Swordfish limits you to 200 bytes)
So I can't implement anything else (like the pellets) until I upgrade.
As for your question - it's built into swordfish BUT you need to type in .bits not just .bit
make sure you put the s on the end!

FYI - Buying Swordfish is not worth the venture - the sole owner/updater of the program (David Barker) has given up on the project and not provided any support for over 2 years.
No support is expected in the near future. Those close to him/have contact with him have confirmed this on other forums

Not according to a recent post of the swordfish forum today.

As irony would have it heh
Myself along with 2-3 other users have held an 'active web presence' supporting/defending the compiler the entire time - even managed to convince Brad to use the compiler, who in turn did to you!!
Why did I keep supporting it? In hope of the compiler being successful, thus introducing new features/updates/modules/etc, which in turn benefits me!!
Having gone through that stint (and there have been several other stints, just not "as long"), its a real kick to the shins in terms of confidence.
The way I see it - Your time (and mine) is a resource - and should be used to maximise value. We could spend thousands of hours learning all of the ropes (and there's a truck load of them) on a platform such as Swordfish, only to find in the near future, and without warning, it has been "left for dead".
Don't get me wrong - I would love to see the Swordfish compiler press on and become the compiler of choice - but with a little thought, its just as easy to learn C - the world standard in micro controller programming, let alone any form of programming.

If your looking for reliable, long term support - there are a few PICBasic compilers out there that have stood the test of time:
- Proton (PDS)
- PIC Basic Pro (PBP)
- MikroBasic (mB)
All of which are likely to have more built in commands/features compared to Swordfish, and due to the natural continued support they are likely to all be more reliable in terms of code-integrity and efficiency.
I prefer to use Proton PDS - hands down the fastest compiler on the market with impressive support and reliable updates/feature additions.

Thanks very much for all that info Mitchy. Some great points to think about.
I don't regret for a second getting into swordfish basic, it's been fantastic! But I am putting some serious thought into moving onto a different basic compiler.
Just as you recommended, proton seems the way to go and I will certainly look into that one.
As a matter of fact, I have just sent an email to proton

Um, no!
I guess it's a classic case of moving onto other projects without finishing the previous...
I am currently in the process of designing a whole heap of circuit board for all sorts of different projects so I'll have to make one up for the pacman game.

Unfortunately it was an unfinished project and I didn't document it. I may have the sourcecode lying around somewhere though.

DANG! Oh well, looks like you are going to have to start over from scratch.
We all expect a working prototype by the end of the week!
Stacy
PS> We need you to code it in assembly!

Any time you deviate from sequential consistency, you increase the complexity of the problem by orders of magnitude.
