I was watching a video on Hackaday with Bil Herd and he made me interested in the PSOC4 board which is basically a programmable system on a chip and it uses Arduino style shields (daughterboards).
Think about this. With software, you can add digital, analog or other circuits like a UART to your microcontroller.
