Pinball Machine - sounds like a job for a microcontroller

I found parts to build a Pinball Machine. Now all I would have to do is build it and figure out how to control it with a microcontroller:

Back in the day it was all solid state components. Check out this photo of a machine I think from the 70's



A microcontroller would certainly clean things up.
